KMSTC has received the necessary and complies with OPITO BOSIET requirements to held offshore courses.
Please pay your attention to the fact that OPITO approved training center is the only option for the trainee to be registered to online learning. Thus, the trainees are not able to go through registration and receive access to online materials by their own.
In order to start OPITO BOSIET course, a trainee should choose the date. Please also note that you will receive a confirmation. The access to OPITO course will be given in one day via e-mail. OPITO training includes an introduction video and four modules. Upon arrival to KMSTC, OPITO training provider will assess the knowledge of the trainees received via distance learning program.
OPITO offshore survival training will be held by that training provider that registered the trainees to the online platform. Plus, only such training provider is able to asses and issue OPITO certification.
Description:
This course contains practical and theory online sections including:
- Safety Induction
- Helicopter Safety and Escape
- Sea Survival and First Aid
- Fire Fighting and Self Rescue
Procedure Digital Delivery BOSIET (with EBS):
- Choose your practice day in our calendar
- You will receive the booking conformation for the practical day
- Within 1 working day you will receive the access to online teaching material by e-mail.
- Until the practical day, you can complete the e-learning.
- By arrival at the training centre we check if you have completed the online learning successful.
IMPORTANT: online course lasts an average of 8 hours. When you have completed the online learning, you must follow the practical day within 90 days.
Course overview:
This program is designed for personnel who are new to the offshore oil and gas industry, and who require the safety and emergency response training and assessment requirement to work in an offshore environment.
N.B. There are physical aspects of this training including water-based activities.
Duration:
1 Day. The practical part can be provided within 90 days since registration is done.
Time:
The Instructor meets you at 08:20 at the entrance of the main building. Two coffee breaks and one lunch break (lunch and refreshments are included in the course fee). Please arrive in good time for your training course and allow an extra 10 minutes for check-in on the first day. Late arrival will cause inconvenience for others.
Location:
KMSTC, (Kherson State Maritime Academy – 20, Ushakova av. Kherson, Ukraine) Delegates will be met at the entrance of the main building and will be escorted to the training facility.
Drug and alcohol policy:
Alcohol cannot be consumed on KMSTC premises. If there are some suspicions that the trainee is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, the management is obligated to delete this person from the classroom and even from KMSTC premises. Notification to the person’s employer may be made if the employer paid for the course.
Health:
Some of the courses may involve a degree of physical and mental stress. Therefore delegates will be required to complete a self declaration of fitness questionnaire either prior to, or on commencement of the course. Providing a valid medical statement of good health is compulsory if their health is in doubt.
Hotel:
Optional. KMSTC management may assist you in booking a hotel. (Hotel fees will be covered by participants)
Items to Bring:
Form of Valid Government Issued identification, with photograph (passport/driving License / Government Card etc).
Water Survival session – swimwear is provided by KMSTC, however if you are wearing XXXL and XXXXL clothes, you can bring your own swimwear.
Fire Fighting session – coveral with long sleeves are provided by KMSTC, however, if you are wearing XXXL and XXXXl clothes, you can bring your own coveralls and boots.
Special Requirements:
Please inform us if you require any special requirements for your training with us here at KMSTC, for example (physical, religious, dietary requirements) we will assist where necessary. You may do so by contacting KMSTC by email, phone or calling in prior to training, your requests will be treated in confidence.
Assessments:
Participants will demonstrate/explain/identify their level of knowledge, skills and understanding through oral and/or written questioning and practical activities by our qualified facilitators.
Complaints and Appeals:
All trainees who find themselves deemed ”Not Yet Competent” have the right to appeal that decision. All appeals shall be directed, in writing, to the Administrator who will support your appeal process. Where participants believe that they have been treated unfairly, unruly or unjust by any member of staff whilst attending a KMSTC run course, or whilst having contact with KMSTC, they should out their concerns in writing with assistance from the administrator.
Cancellations and refunds:
Cancellation less than in 5 working days prior to the course start without a reasonable reason (providing the relevant documents: a health certificate) is subject to 100% payment of the course and accommodations fees.
Cancellation in more than 5 working days prior to the course start is free of charge.
In case of inability of completing the course in full amount, the payment will be kept in proportion to the content of the passed material.
