Course Name: High Voltage Training (Management level)
The high voltage management course has a purpose of refreshing and upgrading the skills and theoretical knowledge of the engineering staff on operational safety, approbation, and servicing of high voltage electrical complex aboard the vessels. The program will consist of practical and informational components. All the activities will be held in a reliable atmosphere envisaging the up-to-date trainer ‘Schneider Electric’.
The main themes to be highlighted during the High Voltage Management course:
- Instructions on functionality, safety, and operation of a marine HV complex.
- Appointment of skilled staff for servicing of HV system;
- Ability to find troubleshooting solution in case of HV system failures;
- Working out a switching plan for isolating elements of an HV complex;
- Choosing appropriate actions for isolating and checking HV hardware;
- Switching and isolating performance on a marine HV facility in accordance with safety demands;
- Insulation resistance testing and polarization index monitoring on HV machinery;
- High Voltage security demands and Safe working performance;
- Permission to perform relevant operations;
- High Voltage control and protection means aboard;
- Grounding and discharge;
- Norms for HV servicing (IEC benchmarks, local rules /the UK, The USA, Norway / and proposed practices);
- Practical sessions and evaluation.
General description of the course:
The training has been worked out in accordance with the rules III/2, III/3 of the STCW Code (Manila amendments 2010), Tables A-III/2, A-III/3 (Management level) and part B-III/2. The STCW high voltage course is meant for Chief Engineer Officers, Supplementary Engineer Officers, and Electrical Officers who are in charge of supervision and implementation of High Voltage commutation operations as an Empowered Staff Member.

Course length:
The process takes 3 days. Everyday attendance is a must to prove competency after the course.
Working schedule:
The STCW high voltage training starts with a meeting with the instructor at 8.30 am near the main building. All the participants should arrive 10 minutes ahead on an opening day to allow some time for check-in procedure. Do not be late to avoid creating inconvenience for the other participants.
Location:
KMSTC, (Kherson State Maritime Academy – 20, Ushakova av. Kherson, Ukraine) Attendees will be seen off to the class.
Alcohol is not allowed.
Drug and alcohol are prohibited:
It is strictly prohibited to bring and consume alcohol within KMSTC site. In case any participant is noticed under the effect of drug substances or alcohol, the administration has the right to ask him to leave the premises. In case, the course has been paid for by the participant’s employer, it would be reported directly to the payer.
Accommodation. KMSTC personnel may help with hotel booking for the participants. This is an optional service and should be separately requested. All hotel expenses are settled by the participants individually.
Documents to Bring:
Official valid ID document including a participant photo. You may use a passport, a driving license, or any form of a government-issued document. You should also submit a Diploma proving your skills.

Evaluation:
The participants of the course will have a chance to reveal the acquired professional skills by way of verbal and written tests. The course also stipulates practical sessions with the help of experts.
Customer support:
The course attendees may find themselves in the situation that they failed to pass the testing after completing high voltage management level course. In this case, every participant has the right to refute the result. All the appeals are passed to the Administration, and they consider them directly. The attendees may also address other complaints to the Administration. They may share their dissatisfaction with the improper treating during the course, any case of unjustified staff attitude, etc.
Cancellations and refunds:
Cancellation less than in 5 working days prior to the course start without a reasonable reason (providing the relevant documents: a health certificate) is subject to 100% payment of the course and accommodations fees.
Cancellation in more than 5 working days prior to the course start is free of charge.
In case of inability of completing the course in full amount, the payment will be kept in proportion to the content of the passed material.
