SSI open water dive certification

KMSTC gives possibility to pass advanced open water diver courses. The program is designed for those who want to be an SSI Master Diver. For this, you need to do 4 specialized SSI course and have 24 registered dives in the open water.

Our world-recognized program allows receiving SSI dive certification, which is one of the most popular among divers. The open water diving course is a basic course for those who just want to start their journey.

Course description:

To develop a solid awareness and ability for diving, the SSI dive courses have three stages. The first stage is theoretical. It has an online and offline form. It can be done at any time and place a trainee prefers. A trainee will find out what influence the underwater environment has on the human body, what equipment people need to stay underwater and how to use it.

Then we move to practice. There are six modules in a pool. During these six modules, the trainees have to try and apply the gained skills in situations close to real in a pool or closed waters. A professional instructor of SSI open water diver course will assist you with the diving equipment and help you to feel natural in such conditions. It also will teach you how to breathe correctly, how to clean your mask underwater, what to do in case of emergency, etc.

The third stage consists of four divings with SCUBA (self-contained underwater breathing apparatus) into open water. A trainee will sharpen its skills to dive with a mask and a snorkel, to assemble the equipment, and do exercises on water. But remember the instructor will not teach you on this stage. The maximum diving depth is 18 meters provided that a trainee reached the age of 15. The duration will vary from 16 to 32 hours.

Schedule:

The courses start at 09:00 a.m. each day. You will have two coffee breaks. It is important to come 10 minutes earlier declared time on the first day for registration purposes.

Please come in time to avoid any inconveniences and misunderstandings.

Location:

KMSTC, (Kherson State Maritime Academy – 20, Ushakova av. Kherson, Ukraine) Delegates will be met at the entrance and escorted to the training centre.

The course administrator will wait for all team members at the entrance of KMSTC for your convenience.

Banned substances policy:

Caution: sale of alcohol products is forbidden on the territory of KMSTC. If the Academy Administration finds out any person who tool alcohol or drugs, the Administration reserves the right to force such a person to leave KMSTC. Provided that the employer and/or company paid for courses, the administration will inform it about the incident.

Items to Bring:

Please take a state document with a photograph. Please do not forget to take a document. We need it for identification purposes.

Assessments:

The assessment contains theoretical and practical part. During the theoretical part, a trainee has to show its knowledge via oral and/or written questioning. During the practical part, a trainee has to show received skills.

Cancellations and refunds:

Cancellation less than in 5 working days prior to the course start without a reasonable reason (providing the relevant documents: a health certificate) is subject to 100% payment of the course and accommodations fees.

Cancellation in more than 5 working days prior to the course start is free of charge.

In case of inability of completing the course in full amount, the payment will be kept in proportion to the content of the passed material.

Approval:

The open water diver certification is recognized worldwide which will allow diving up to a depth of 18 meters without an instructor in any dive center. You will receive an internal certificate of Scuba School International.
