Course Name: Offshore Emergency Response Team Member and its refresher.
Ocupational Training International (OTI), Baku, Azerbaijan in conjunction with KMSTC partner.
Target group: This programme is designed to meet the initial onshore training and assessment requirement for the Offshore Emergency Response Team Member.
Aims: To provide delegates with the additional skills necessary to fulfil the role of emergency fire team member and to be able to demonstrate competence in that role.
Objectives: At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Identify hazards and hazardous areas
- Locate fixed systems and equipment available
- Respond to alarms / complete the muster in accordance with procedures
- Donned correct BA equipment / complete BA pre-entry checks
- Gain access to the incident area
- Move through the incident area / work in the incident area in a safe manner
- Maintain a means of safe escape
- Confirm missing personnel
- Find missing personnel in accordance with procedures / extricate trapped or injured personnel
- understanding the various rescue methods and equipment
- Utilise fixed systems and monitor the effectiveness
- Select and use portable systems
- Monitor and control for effectiveness and redress any deficiencies
- Isolate plant and equipment as required with emergency procedures
- Appropriate action to deal with non fire incidents
- Cleaning and servicing of equipment
- Minimise water / smoke and heat damage in accordance with procedures
- Establish appropriate communication / Issued and given clear instruction
- Operate various communication systems
- Response and incident feedback to team members and specialist

Unit 2: Enter the incident area and rescue personnel
Element 2.1: Enter the incident area and work safely
Element 2.2: Rescue personnel
Unit 3: Control the incident
Element 3.1: Carry out firefighting operation
Element 3.2: Carry out non firefighting operations
Element 3.3: Maintain effective communications
Duration: 5 days
Pre-requisite training for delegates on this course is possession of a current BOSIET or FOET certificate.
